Physiotherapy is an integral part of the rehabilitation of hemophilic patients. Physiotherapy in haemophilia is a very relevant thought in our present scenario. Surveys show that about 1 instance in every 10,000 male births worldwide is having haemophilia.

Hemophilia is caused by the deficiency of blood-clotting proteins. These proteins help blood to clot naturally when a person bleeds. This makes a person with hemophilia to bleed for more time than a normal person. People with hemophilia do not face serious problems with small cuts. But, if there is an internal bleeding, then it may become life-threatening as it may damage organs and tissues of the body.
Hemophilia is a rare genetic disorder. A blood test can reveal if a person has hemophilia. If there is a family history, then hemophilia can be diagnosed during pregnancy.
Hemophilia treatment
There are different types of hemophilia. Hemophilia is treated by replacing the clotting factor that is required by the body. For some, the treatment is required regularly. Some of the therapies that help patients with hemophilia are:

What are the symptoms of hemophilia?
The symptoms vary according to the levels of clotting factor in the body. If the clotting factor deficiency is severe, then there may be spontaneous bleeding. These are the common symptoms of hemophilia:

- Tightness or swelling in joints
- Blood in urine or stool
- Bleeding in nose
- Deep bruises

If you have a family history of hemophilia, then gene testing can help you know if you have a chance of having children with hemophilia.
